The PlungeWatch indices.

Published monthly · rebased to 50 at January 2025

Four series, one method. Each class index measures revision pressure — how often sellers are cutting and how deeply — across every market we scan in that asset class. The Panel Index is the equal-weighted composite of the three: the one number that describes what the owners of expensive things are doing with their asking prices.

Constituents

Method, briefly

Each index is built from the same five revision events we track everywhere: a reduction, a repeat reduction, a method switch, a withdraw-and-relist, and campaign fatigue past the segment norm. Events are weighted by depth and recency, aggregated by market, then composited by class. Readings are cohort-level only — no individual asset or owner is identifiable in any published series. The full specification is on the methodology page.
